Not my PAIN poem
I imagine that sometime in 1915, GH Hardy said:

If I should die, think only this of me,
That there's some corner of a finite field
That is forever England.

Multiplication table of the field with two elements

Very good Dave. I do love both GH Hardy and finite field jokes.

I was pretty happy with this. No-one else has thought of "some corner of a finite field" before. What other finite field jokes are there?

Dodgers-DBacks coverage just started. The host has an excruciatingly slow voice. I hope he's not the main game caller....

The classic finite field joke is:

Q: Why can't you grow wheat in Z/6Z?
A: Because it's not a field.

Well maybe that's a finite ring joke but you get the idea.

Just thinking about dbacks commentators drives me mad so I guess I'll have to write a blog post about it.
