I'm learning about geostats.

Unfortunately much of the field was developed by mathematicians, rather than physicists. After a couple of chapters on sigma-algebras, measures, and such, none of which can be found in any coal mine, I finally got to a chapter that talked about erosion.

Erosion can be written as a Minkowski difference

{x | Bx ⊂ A} = A ∩y ∈ B' Ay.

I started work today.

I read about geostats, which I will continue to do through this week.

I got jobbed.

Probably. They'll be sending me the official letter next week-ish. I'll be a geostatisticologist.

Anyway, the interview/chat thingy was with the two directors of the company. A certain former employee of the company, known to many of us, was mentioned at one point. One of the directors said to the other, "Do you remember him? The chicken suit."
